Hello again everyone, Sorry i've been gone for so long. I'm back on the ice and here we go again with another season of fun pictures, facts and videos straight from Mcmurdo Station Antarctica. These are just some of the pictures from the last flight out of town. The station is now closed for the winter season, but since we are having an extended season There will be yet another flight in April. The pictures here are of people getting on the C-17 AirForce plane as well as people gathering at the Chalet to watch as the last flight fly over the town. The helicopter in the picture was just taking off to drop off some supplies to one of the many field camps that will be kept open this extended season for scientists to do some extra research until the Station officially close in April.

found your blog through Blogs of Note - v cool. these pictures are gorgeous, especially the third one down with the plane flying off into the clouds - imperceptible horizon. well done! do you explain in one of the posts how you came to be in Antarctica? Interested to hear...
