More Pics from the runway...

Here are a few more pictures from the runway. That's me standing on one of our cargo deltas, used to load pallets of food or other items on then bring them into town from the runway. Then there is the convoy of deltas driving to the runway in blowing snow condition, from the back view of the C-17 as it heads down the runway. Two people watching the skies and waiting for their flight.

Welcome back my friends.....

Hello again everyone, Sorry i've been gone for so long. I'm back on the ice and here we go again with another season of fun pictures, facts and videos straight from Mcmurdo Station Antarctica. These are just some of the pictures from the last flight out of town. The station is now closed for the winter season, but since we are having an extended season There will be yet another flight in April. The pictures here are of people getting on the C-17 AirForce plane as well as people gathering at the Chalet to watch as the last flight fly over the town. The helicopter in the picture was just taking off to drop off some supplies to one of the many field camps that will be kept open this extended season for scientists to do some extra research until the Station officially close in April.
